Stars who took the step from the screen to the sewing machine (or at least the sketchbook)
He may have missed out on a Top 10 Most Popular Artiste award, but Ian Fang is making waves in another area the rest of his fellow nominees and 8 Dukes brothers are not: the local fashion scene.
Last year, the swagalicious star launched a line of T-shirts under the label “First Attempt”. Now, he’s taken his game up a notch and become the first artiste to team up with styleXstyle for a fashion collaboration, designing a cool hoodie which is now available exclusively online.
Splashed across the piece, which adheres to Ian’s self-professed “street, urban and hyper” look, are the words “’Sup Style” against a blazing red background. “This design is very ‘Ian Fang’ and very ‘Wassup!’,” Ian explained, unveiling the origins behind half of the caption (the “Style”, naturally, represents styleXstyle).
The partnership was conceived when Ian met Sharon Au, the woman behind styleXstyle, at a fashion show last November. “He showed me some of his own designs on his phone and I was impressed with his passion for fashion,” Sharon told us. “We roughly talked about having a collaboration collection, which I thought he would forget about, but he actually sent us a few designs a few weeks later.”
