For the past three years, we've attended the Asian Fashion Exchange's Blueprint Tradeshow and Emporium, and left feeling inspired by all of the talent flowing in (and out!) of Singapore. While we might spend most of the year complaining about how every mall and boutique looks exactly the same, the designers we meet at Blueprint give us hope that it's only a matter of time before our country emerges as a major creative force in the fashion world.

If you're planning on doing any shopping this weekend, we'd highly recommend checking out Blueprint over the weekend to scope out the designer pieces, many of which are unavailable in boutiques around Singapore. That being said, we're not too adventurous ourselves (having shopped at only 3 stores in the past 6 months: Lowry's Farm, H&M, and Uniqlo, oops) so we definitely picked up a style tip or two while browsing the booths at yesterday morning's preview.

Keep reading to see our picks of the booths, as well as what they taught us about personal style.

Blueprint Emporium is open to the public and will be held on May 17 and 18 in Suntec Conventional Centre, halls 401 and 402.

Pictured above: Doesn't this necklace remind you of the friendship bracelets we made as children? Available at theKang booth.
