Rather than regretting that you looked like a wallflower or an overglazed turkey this Christmas, our tips will ensure you will look glam – tastefully, of course
Accessorise sparingly but strikingly
What you want to avoid doing at the Christmas party is to look like you have a billion jewels on. Cut down on the clutter in your outfit and let the focus go towards the food instead of on you. Think of one statement piece that could greatly amp up your look and build other accessories around it, if you have to wear them.
For example, a great architectural necklace or a spiral or armour ring is a great conversation piece. Other great pieces could be a contrasting belt or a nut-and-bolt bracelet. Wear the on-trend harness only if your party crowd is okay with you being a little outré, you daring fashionista. If you really want to go all out, choose a fascinator a la Philip Treacy’s – they up the glam quotient by a mile.
