"The sweeping red eyeliner, along with lashings of black mascara or a set of falsies, really give this look its edge," says Kim, "while a pink-caramel colour on the lips provides a feminine softness.

"Rihanna has done really well and followed the golden rule of enhancing just one of her features; which is why the look rocks. You can use colour quite cleverly if you play down other parts of the make-up."
