King of the permatan is actor and Hollywood playboy George Hamilton. Famous for his roles in Dynasty and The Godfather III as well as for dating Elizabeth Taylor in the 80s, Hamilton's deep tan has made him a household name. Crediting his tan for turning him into a babe magnet, Hamilton once said: "Suntanning was to me what the funny blue suit was to Superman." He also launched his own range of tanning products in the late '80s.
