Paris Haute Couture week has finally closed its curtains on another season and what a spring/summer 2014 it’s been!

Donatella Versace dramatised her rainbow-coloured, silk dresses with draped hoods in honour of “the fluidity and provocation of Grace Jones”.

Burlesque star Dita Von Teese strutted down the catwalk in a butterfly suit for Jean-Paul Gaultier, while butterflies also featured on the walls at Valentino's altogether more earthy presentation.

Karl Lagerfeld sent his Chanel sent models down the catwalk in trainers, and Maison Martin Margiela's masked models were styled with tattoo-inspired tops and intricately beaded hoods.

Elsewhere, Giambattista Valli presented a collection full of princess gowns in an array of dramatic shapes, while Dior’s theme was beautiful brides, with a multitude of white delicate chiffon mini-dresses.
