Dame Vivienne Westwood in shower video
Dame Vivienne Westwood has released a video of her in the shower ahead of World Water Day on Saturday (22.03.14).
The celebrated fashion designer is seen wearing a shower cap in the short film talking about her personal hygiene, saving water, and how much of the world's water supplies are depleted by the meat trade.
In the video, the 72-year-old star, who often raise awareness of environmental issues, says: ''I am an eco-warrior, but I take long showers with a clean conscience because I'm vegetarian.
''The meat trade is not only the worst polluter on the planet but it also squanders most of our water. Rivers are diverted for miserable factory farms.''
She adds: ''The water goes not just to the poor overcrowded animals but to grow the 16lbs of grain it takes to make just 1lb of meat.''
In a Q&A session to mark the day, the designer also revealed she often shares bath water with her husband, Andreas.
She said: ''I just wash my bits and rush out in the morning and more often than not get in the bath after Andreas.
Vivienne added: ''It was really lucky for me when my husband decided he wanted to be a vegetarian.
''This is a great big man, very strong, perfect body man and we're very strong, our bodies process these vegetables. We're just really happy with our food.''
