Daria Werbowy finds fame tough
Model Daria Werbowy is glad she flies under the radar because she finds fame difficult to cope with.
Daria Werbowy says fame makes her feel ''insecure''.
The stunning model - who has been the face of Lancôme for eight years - is one the most recognisable faces in fashion, but likes the fact she isn't a household name because she finds the media attention difficult to handle.
She said: ''I find it interesting that people know who I am. It's also fascinating to see how much effect you can have on people. Of course, it can affect me, make me feel insecure and wonder what I should and shouldn't do.
''I don't think I would ever want an extremely public life. I feel that would be very difficult. I'm pretty under the radar. I don't really deal with a lot of fame in the 'pop culture' way.''
The publicity-shy model even took a two-year break from the fashion industry to travel the world, before settling in Ireland with her carpenter boyfriend.
Daria recently celebrated her landmark 30th birthday and firmly believes that age is just a number.
She mused in an interview with Britain's HELLO! magazine: ''I don't feel very different. I feel more relaxed, I don't feel as pressured as I used to. Hopefully, I'm wiser. I don't feel old, though. When I hang out with my 14-year-old cousin, I don't really feel the age difference.''
