Fashion face-off: Mariah Carey vs. Nicki Minaj

For the last couple of weeks, pop divas Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj have been duking it out as guest judges on the twelfth season of American Idol. In between their vulgarity-laden filmed fights, Mariah’s allegations that Nicki had threatened her, Nicki’s passive-aggressive tweets, and the producers’ insistence that the feud is sensationalized, we haven’t had this much fun watching the talent show since Kelly was battling Justin.

Given their big personalities and American Idol’s desperation for ratings, it’s not surprising that these two divas have been pitted against each other. Take one look at their wildly different fashion choices and you’ll know that these two ladies simply aren’t on the same wavelength. In terms of music alone, we’d pick Mariah in a heartbeat. But let’s face it – Nicki’s simply more fun to look at. While Mariah hasn’t changed her hair or makeup in a couple of decades, Nicki’s worn wigs that you thought only existed on The Simpsons. And since this show’s televised, we’re looking forward to tuning in every week just to see what Nicki’s wearing. (Then again, her outfits are often so ugly, we can’t help looking away.)
