An explosion of local artistes on the red carpet this year led to some standout sartorial choices and some, well, interesting ones (to say the least)

HOT: Joanne Peh

Well, hello there, good looker. Joanne Peh is probably one of very few artistes to wear Shanghai Tang to a red carpet, and she did it with much aplomb in this coral cheongsam-inspired frock with lace detail and a dainty hem. The dress length was perfect in showing off Joanne’s gorgeous legs and her blood red ankle-strap heels continued the illusion well.

We asked her about the beaded fold clutch, to which Joanne replied that it was a handmade one from India – another nice Asian ode. This whole look was chic in every angle. We are not crazy though about the overdone eyes and coiffed fringe, although the neat bun was as reined in as the entire outfit.
