Costume Designer: Adrian

Anni Pavlovitch (Joan Crawford)

Despite the vivid colour of this dazzling red beaded dress worn by Joan Crawford, it appeared only in black and white in the film The Bride Wore Red. Designed by Adrian in shaded tones of red, it was covered with a vast number of bugle beads. The film’s narrative follows Anni, a cabaret singer who is transformed by an aristocrat to mix in his circle following a bet with a friend.
