Jacqueline Durran, who designed the provocative, emerald silk evening gown worn by Cecilia in the passionate love scene with Robbie Turner, felt it crucial that it skimmed Cecilia’s frame to create an element of semi-nakedness. The floor-length dress has a flowing hemline, delicate spaghetti straps and a wide waistband wrap gathered at the rear with a high front split. Instead of using traditional 1930s beading on its bodice, Durran used contemporary laser-cut patterns.
