Lulu Kennedy wants to open Lulu + Co store
British designer Lulu Kennedy would love to give shoppers an offbeat experience by opening a quirky new store for her Lulu & Co label.
Lulu Kennedy plans to open a store for her Lulu & Co label.
The British designer dreams of creating an innovative shopping space for her quirky fashion range, which would offer customers the chance to sip on cocktails and cuddle animals while they browse the rails.
She said: ''In my dreams, it would be in a refurbished pub that still had a working bar, and some resident fluffy baby pets for customers to play with.
''As well as our range, I would stock my amazing Fashion East designers and do special projects with friends. I have a way to go, but as Walt Disney said 'If you can dream it you can do it.' ''
Lulu's project, Fashion East - which she launched in 2010 - enables upcoming designers to team up on seasonal collections and her latest recruit, Bobby Abley, has been a hit with his ''cosmic, optimistic, wearable and fun'' creations.
The space-inspired collection appeals to Lulu's whimsical and fun-loving aesthetic and she can relate to the upbeat UFO prints and sparkly Lurex, which she believes point to a happy future.
She told Vogue.co.uk: ''I fell for his aesthetic at first sight - it's super-cute and friendly - just like him. Also he had built an actual flying saucer for his exhibit - how amazing is that? He let me borrow it for the lookbook shoot...
''I'm naturally a happy person and have faith the future will be fun.''
