SINGAPORE — World-famous British supermodel Naomi Campbell will make her South-east Asia runway debut at #DigitalFashionWeek Singapore 2013 – British Exchange next month.
Project director Charina Widjaja said having Campbell participate in the event would augment the global status of Singapore’s fashion industry.

“Never before have the runways of Singapore’s fashion festival/week been opened by a bona fide supermodel, much less someone as reputable as Naomi Campbell herself. Our fashion week will truly boost Singapore’s goal of becoming the fashion capital of Asia,” she said.
The event, to be held from Nov 1 to 4, will showcase the works of 32 local fashion designers. It will feature 12 catwalk shows, 22 showroom presentations, eight on-schedule events and four official after-parties.
A top British fashion designer and several British fashion personalities will also be taking part in the event, with details to be announced in due time.
Local designers Sven Tan and Kane Tan, co-founders of In Good Company, will debut their womenswear collection on the runway in a segment called The Catwalk Space, along with nine other established Singaporean labels.
The other 22 designers will showcase their collections as part of The Showroom Space, a by-invitation-only segment where participants can also interact with the designers.
The fashion week will be screened live to a global audience on YouTube, and include question-and-answer sessions with Singapore and British fashion personalities on Google+ Hangouts.
The organisers have also partnered Twitter to create a live “Tweetwalk” show, the first of its kind, where pictures of the runway looks will be shared before the models hit the catwalk.
Users can also watch the live runway shows on Coast by Opera on their iPads.
