Boston University sophomore and Rhode Island beauty queen, Olivia Culpo was crowned this year’s Miss Universe title at the pageant finale in Sin City.

Miss Rhode Island never imagined winning the title of Miss USA because she was competing against 50 other seasoned beauty contestants.

After winning the title, she said "I was so surprised and my first thought was that all the other girls behind me were going to win, and I just didn’t think that I was going to make it so far. And I thought that everyone who participated in the pageant was so great, and I was honoured to win the title."
