SINGAPORE — Gardens By The Bay’s OCBC Skyway will be playing host to a fashion show in the sky next year.
Model, entrepreneur and global fashion show organiser Jessica Minh Anh, who is the director of Paris- and London-based company, J Model Management, will be using the venue for her J Spring Fashion Show on March 5, 2014. Models wearing a combination of haute couture and ready-to-wear collections from four continents will be walking across the 128 metre-long Skyway that connects the two Supertrees, 22 metres in the air.
The venture is in keeping with Anh’s penchant for altitudinous and unusual fashion walkways. Last year’s J Spring Fashion Show was held on Malaysia’s Petronas Twin Towers Skybridge. In November 2011, Anh turned London Tower Bridge into a catwalk 44 meters above the Thames; in July 2012, she turned Paris’ River Seine into a 90-metre floating catwalk; and in November this year, she held the world’s highest fashion show on the Grand Canyon Skywalk in the United States.
She has worked with designers such as Britain’s Paul Costelloe, Japan’s Yumi Katsura, Taiwan’s Shiatzy Chen, Dutch celebrity designer Addy van den Krommnacker and Lebanese haute couture designer Ziad Nakad.
Anh is the first person to have been granted permission to use the Skyway as a catwalk.
