Italian designers are obsessed with British heritage and this season they used it to create a plush, stately-home-meets-boudoir look that we don't expect to see translating to the high street anytime soon. On the catwalk we saw silk pyjamas at Dolce & Gabbana, tapestry fabrics at McQueen and plush velvet at Hermès, but the best way to introduce this look to your wardrobe is to opt for a chunky belted cardigan, 'lord of the manor' style.
