Chopard at Cannes
No A-list red-carpet look would be complete without a delicate (or for that matter flamboyant) sprinkling of show-stopping jewellery. So it is no surprise that Geneva-based luxury watch and jewellery house Chopard is a main player at one of the most glamorous events of the year - the Cannes film festival.
This year marks Chopard's 17th anniversary at the festival. Each year they unveil a Haute Joaillerie Red Carpet collection and each year the collection comprises a spectacular piece of jewellery for every year the festival has been running, which means this year there are a staggering 67 glorious models, many of which are dedicated to the theme of Cinecittà - the studio responsible for thousands of international and Italian feature films, and the collection will be inspired by the charisma and the voluptuous beauty of the actresses of the 1950s and 1960s.
The “Riviera” Necklace, one of the centerpieces of the collection, is an 18-carat white gold piece fully set with brilliant-cut, marquise-cut and pear-cut diamonds, all mingling in a caressing foliage motif. The necklace comes with matching earrings, oozing pure glamour (sketch, pictured).
To celebrate the collection we take a look back at some of the jewellery that has been designed by Chopard in previous years for the festival.
