5 Life Lessons from Female Comedians

5 Life Lessons from Female Comedians

As many a Shakespearean fool - or jester - has shown, good advice is most potent when laced with wit and humour. Of late, several of my favourite female comedians have proven this point repeatedly in recently published books. While these titles run the gamut from memoirs (Sarah Silverman, Tina Fey, Lizz Winstead) to collections of random observations (Ellen DeGeneres), and one marvellous paean to hate (Joan Rivers), they have one thing in common: Each is chockfull of sharp insights, hilariously matched by the razor-sharp wit with which they are told.

Whether intended or otherwise, there are plenty of lessons to be learnt from the experiences and observations of these trailblazers, all of whom are women at the top of their game in a male-dominated industry. Here are five (and counting) important life lessons I've gleaned from these ladies.
