Make it classy during the in-law visit

If you do decide to spend Christmas with the entire family, do it with panache and not sell out your other half at the meet. Take some quiet moments together but keep the “hands all over each other” phase out of the family dinner. Drop a nice joke about the other half or drip some trivia on your life but don’t overdo it. Alcohol is a safe gift but contribute a killer entrée or dipping sauce if you want to stand out. Formalities are great, but enjoy your company first and foremost. Your in-laws will approve.
