Elderly folk enjoy a CNY treat at APBS charity dinner
Good food and great fun were abound at the Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore’s (APBS) annual Lunar New Year Charity Dinner, held last Monday night at Chinatown’s Kreta Ayer Square. At the event were over 200 elderly folk, local actors Huang Shi Nan and Wang Yu Qing and Tanjong Pagar GRC MP Dr Lily Neo.
The festivity had all the usual elements of a grand Chinese New Year celebration – mouthwatering dishes, traditional performances, and of course, angpaos, which were distributed by the celebrity guests, Dr Neo and Mr Michael Chin, the General Manager of APBS.
Everyone clearly had a whale of a time, if the smile-filled snapshots and positive remarks are anything to go by. “This dinner is something I always look forward to,” said 78-year-old Chow Mew Yoong. “It really gives me a sense of belonging and brings us all closer together.”
