
SINGAPORE - New York gourmet grocer Dean & DeLuca opened its doors on Friday to a world of Big Apple tastiness. Occupying 3,200 sq ft at Orchard Central, the first Singapore outpost of many a gourmand's dream boasts a key focus on quality cheeses and charcuterie, as well as prepared foods such as salads, soups and sandwiches.
A major draw will be its all-day breakfast menu, which promises dishes like poached eggs with sauteed mushrooms, jamon Iberico and Hollandaise sauce served on toasted pumpernickel, and fluffy flapjacks with berries, drizzled with organic maple syrup - all served up in generous New York-sized portions.
Said Kenneth Low, director of Kitchen Language, the food and beverage arm of Far East Organization: "We are delighted to be opening the very first Dean & DeLuca store right here in Orchard Central. We look forward to welcoming and sharing out exquisite gourmet journey with the whole of Singapore."
