New + Noted: Kiku
A two-storey “high-end izakaya” owned by Hongkonger Calvin Yeung of the now-defunct One On The Bund. The 60-seater (including 15 counter seats on the ground floor) serves assorted Japanese dishes like the Mixed Beef Nikomi ($26) with beef brisket, tripe, tendon and stomach, as well as “innovative sushi” like the Mekajiki Maki ($38), swordfish maki rolled with prawn, crab, and seaweed crumble topped with golden caviar. Lunch menus are more affordable and range from $15 to $38.
