From its conception, the Ghibli was designed to make Maserati history. Unveiled just a few months after the Quattroporte, it’s the only other four-door sedan by the brand. The Maserati Ghibli is designed to be smaller, lighter, more dynamic, less expensive and more economical, while emanating a sportier and more youthful character than the Quattroporte.
A glance at this machine is not enough to drink in its first-rate design. The signature Saetta Maserati logo adorns the distinctive Maserati grille, which is inspired by the current GranTurismo and classic A6 GCS Berlinetta from the 1950s. Its triangular C-pillar and frameless door windows give the Ghibli the appearance of a sports coupé.
The Maserati Ghibli carries through with its sporty look from the outside to the interior, where the upholstery, dashboard and doors can be outfitted in a dual colour combination. The seats are also designed to have a wraparound form, maximising the comfort level and sporty feel of the interior.
The 3.0 litre Twin Turbo V6 engine in the Ghibli S is nothing short of awe inspiring, with 410 horsepower and 183 Nm of torque per litre – making it exceptionally responsive to the slightest touch of the driver. In standard two-wheel drive mode, the Ghibli S accelerates from 0 to 62mph in five seconds. The Ghibli Diesel – accelerating to the same speed in 6.3 seconds – is the first ever diesel-powered car in Maserati history, which unfortunately will not be available in Singapore.
