Formed in 1985, the Design Business Chamber Singapore is the nation’s premiere multidisciplinary design chamber. As a dynamic community of business leaders, practitioners, and academia from diverse backgrounds, the organisation believes that a pluralistic design approach is the key to gaining a competitive edge in today’s global market.
A champion of applying design in business, the chambers seeks to raise the standard of professional practices and create business opportunities through cross-collaborations in local and international contexts.
Mr Tai Lee Siang, president of Design Business Chamber Singapore says, “To attract capital investments, it is important for creative industries to raise awareness and recognition of the value of their designs and innovative products and services internationally, via a multitude of channels. This enables them to reach out to sectors such as finance and technology, where global investors congregate.”
In honour of Singaporean visionaries who create revolutionary designs, the chamber has introduced various awards to show their appreciation for the efforts put in by each designer and company.

Designphase DBA has designed spaces for companies like law firm Freehills LLP, Italian restaurant Zafferano’s and the gift shop of Marina Bay Sands Hotel. With such an intuitive knowledge on commercial spaces, it’s no wonder they have won several awards.
This year, Design Business Chamber Singapore introduced the Singapore Good Design Mark, a mark where individuals and companies in Singapore aspiring to have their designs and products or services recognised globally can apply for. Besides just in Singapore, the mark is also recognised by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion.
