It has happened more times than we could count — heading out for a meal with friends and family, and insisting that everybody orders a different dish so that you can all have a taste of everything on the menu. And we all know that friend who loves to nibble on others’ food, simply because she wants to try something else.
Tuck in to local favourites like sambal squid and oyster omelette at The Kitchen Table, which overlooks the WET pool.
Having its first session titled Street Feast on 16 August 2014, diners can look forward to popular Singaporean delights such as chilli crab and wok fried cereal prawns. According to Matthew Woolford, director of culinary and brand champion of Starwood F&B Council for Asia Pacific, the communal dining experience of Chef’s Table was inspired by his growing up days in Australia, where diners would gather to share their favourites.
Street Feast is not just about familiar favourites though — we loved how the W Singapore culinary team jazzed up comfort food like popiah (a type of spring roll) with premium ingredients like Alaskan crabmeat and moh-cane-toh, a Singapore-inspired mojito with sugar cane.
The lunch menu will be served at The Kitchen Table for nine persons only, at S$50++ per pax. Fret not if you missed the first edition, as the next one will be on 20 September 2014. Look out for it on the third Saturday of every month. For reservations, email email@example.com.
