There's plenty to love about Singapore. The weather's consistent, the city is pristine, and food is available anytime, anywhere. But if there's one thing we've learnt to appreciate over the Great Singapore Sale season, it's that our country has a great shopping scene. Visitors we bring to Orchard Road are immediately wowed by the slick architecture and spotless city streets.

At the same time, there's a reason why Singapore - for all of its merits - isn't quite in the same league as shopping meccas New York, Paris, London, and Tokyo.
