Accept that women are more at risk
Don't be too hard on yourself if you tend to put on weight around your stomach area - it could be a simple matter of genetics. Personal trainer Rob Griffiths explains why it is primarily a female affliction.
"Because we are designed for different functions, men put on weight in different places. Even within genders we have different body types and therefore our genetics will also be in play," he says.
