An extension to the kitchen, a toy castle for your kid's soldiers, an Airfix model... build something, build anything. There's a growing realisation that manual work - especially if we spend all day in offices - is good for us. It involves dexterity and problem-solving skills, and the end result can bring real satisfaction (especially compared with finishing a spreadsheet). Until relatively recently, many men spent more of their working lives doing manual work. Nobody's suggesting a return to that, but working with your hands as a hobby can be a lot of fun and a good use of your time.
