Eat wisely

So, you wake up with a really bad headache, a dry mouth and a sheer lack of appetite. Grabbing some nosh is virtually difficult since you feel like puking with just a whiff of some good ol' bacon and eggs. However, your tummy is growling and there has got to be something you can eat.

Thing is, you have to eat. Our tip is eat wisely. Alcohol has drained all the minerals in your body, so grab a mineral-rich breakfast with fish and baked potatoes. Go easy on high-fat food. Have some tablespoons of plain honey to soothe the dryness in your throat and pile up on fruits with vitamin C to give you the energy you need for the day.

Keep drinking

No, not some more alcohol. Your body's probably dehydrated from all that intoxication. Alcohol is a diuretic, so it encourages the body to lose more water than it takes in, thus you feel the need to pee excessively. Also, potassium is drained away from your body, thus making you feel thirsty and experience stomach cramps.

Nasty, ain't it? Get the reboot you need from a great night to a good morning with the vitamin B and calcium in vitaminwater's Restore drink. Besides calcium helping to combat the symptoms caused by alcohol, vitamin B helps to regulate the water in the body. As long as you stay hydrated, you will never look like a parched bird down Orchard Road, promise.

Go au naturel

Typically, one would be most compelled to cover up for the deeds of the night before with a ton of make-up. However, powdering up is the last thing on your mind especially with a pounding headache. Stay glam without all the fuss: the trick is in looking slightly made-up by using oil products and colours right for your skin tone.

For starters, gently exfoliate your face by washing with cleanser and cloth so that makeup will blend in easily. Use a tinted moisturiser with SPF so you don't need to find the right foundation to match your skin. Dab concealer directly on dark spots and use oil-absorbing powder if needed. Apply a warm pink creme blush or bronzer, a light pink lip gloss and a coat of mascara and you will instantly look so radiant that no one would have guessed where you were last night.

Killer shades do wonders

Face it: no matter how many times we slap on the eyebag cream, it does not work instant miracles. Plus, your eyes will probably be the first to betray that veneer of normalcy. Grab a rockin' pair of sunglasses and look hot while you're covering up under the sunlight.

To keep those nasty eyebags under wraps, choose a pair of sunglasses that are fully tinted and pick out an oversized one so your eyebags are fully covered. Plus, they are in trend so you can look tres chic anytime, anywhere. Just remember to look at where you are going!

Slather some moisturizer

Dehydration due to alcohol can cause your skin to flake or dry out easily. Before going to sleep, ensure that all your makeup is removed and apply a liberal coat of moisturizer on your body before bed. When you're up the next morning, line those puffy eyebags with a light hydrating eye cream that helps to lock in the moisture your skin needs.

For a nice perk-me-up, pick a zesty moisturiser to give your skin an added boost of energy. If you are looking for a power product, look out for shea butter or aloe vera moisturiser for faster skin renewal. Don't forget to look for one with SPF if you are heading out. Get your skin in check and you will be the belle (or hunk) of the day, sans alcohol.

Tune out (© Getty)

Tune out, say 'ohm'

Ultimately, looks may deceive but feeling good is something one cannot feign. Instead of looking hot, why not feel hot as well? Get a reboot by cutting off whatever is going around you and tune out of the noise. Yes, lay off your phone, turn off the computer and - for heaven's sakes - switch off the background sound from the TV!

Take a minute to sit down and do nothing. That's right, just you and your moisturized skin. Clear your mind before you head out the door because that migraine you have definitely cannot afford a gazillion things running through your mind. Hopefully, getting in sync with your body and soul will help you feel great and look smokin' hot.
