Angelina Jolie
First, it was Julia Roberts in Mirror, Mirror. Then, Charlize Theron in Snow White and the Huntsman. And now, it’s Angelina Jolie’s turn to channel evil in yet another revisionist live-action fairy tale movie. In the currently-in-production Maleficent, Jolie plays the title character — the wicked witch from Disney’s 1959 animated classic Sleeping Beauty — and Super 8’s Elle Fanning is Princess Aurora, the lass she cursed to fall into an eternal slumber. Judging from this first-look picture, Oscar-winning production designer-turned-director Robert Stromberg (Avatar) is staying true to Maleficent’s cartoon lineage. Check out those horns!
