The girl in My Girl now works for the US Vice-President… on TV.
Who is she again? The cherubic child actor/model who played Macaulay Culkin’s first love in the 1991 coming-of-age film My Girl. (Their tender onscreen smooch won them Best Kiss at the 1992 MV Movie Awards.) Hyped as The Next Big Thing (Newsweek called her “the next Brooke Shields”), Chlumsky continued working through her teen years until the roles dried up. Blame puberty, she once said in an interview. “[Casting directors] think you’re too fat, that I have chubby cheeks, and at that age, things aren’t proportioned, so they mistook that for being overweight.”
