Somersby’s Apple Cider
Think of Somersby’s Apple Cider ($16.80 for a pack of four) as a cider for beginners. Not that it’s a bad thing: it’s light, crisp, slightly sweet and easy to go down the hatch. It’s a friendlier version of the sometimes strange-tasting, pongy flavours that more mature apple ciders offer. But just ’cos this tastes like a nicer sparkling apple juice doesn’t mean it ain’t potent — it’s got an alcohol content of 4.7 per cent, comparable to beer. Available at NTUC FairPrice and selected restaurants and nightspots like One Altitude and The Coastal Settlement.
