Now that the famed three-Michelin-star elBulli in Spain has closed down, you can always dine at… Catalunya right here in Singapore, slated to open next month in a glass-encased dome atop the waters of Marina Bay at the newly-built The Fullerton Pavilion. Nope, super chef Ferran Adrià himself won’t be helming this eatery. But his right-hand men are. Namely executive chef Alain Devahive Tolosa who worked at elBulli for a decade, and restaurant manager Pol Perello who also worked there for 12 years. The 120-seat Spanish modern restaurant is designed by the award-winning New York firm AvroKO, so you can expect prices here to hover around, oh, steep? But it makes us proud that Singapore is finally getting some serious culinary cred as the big boys from Europe flock here.
