New + Noted: The Little Diner

This cool 50-seat diner endeavours to emulate the edgy restaurants lining New York’s Soho. Décor-wise, it’s done pretty well, with a high ceiling, industrial chic flourishes and a charming hostess. Unfortunately, we can’t say the same for the two brunch dishes we sampled, cooked by a former New York-based Irish chef. The Super Nova Eggs Benedict ($15.50) was middling at best, while The Hangover Burger ($18) housed a strangely mushy beef patty. However, we didn’t get to try the cute-sounding Delancey Red Velvet Pancakes ($13.50, only available for brunch), featuring pancakes that are coloured red and topped with cream cheese.
