This claims to be Singapore’s first authentic Cajun restaurant. And we’re excited by the owner’s pedigree: Singaporean Andrei Soen, whose family used to own a seafood restaurant in San Francisco, was so inspired by the Cajun-style seafood shacks he’d visited in New Orleans, he is introducing the concept here. The restaurant specialises in “seafood boil”, a generic term for shellfish. Choose from Dungeness Crabs,Maine Lobster and Red Sea Prawns (market price). The seafood is boiled, fished out, tossed with your choice of sauce like Garlic Butter or Spicy Cajun, then served in a bag to replicate casual beach-side seafood shacks. Bibs will be distributed and you’re encouraged to eat with your hands. What messy fun! Also on the menu is the New Orleans classic of Dirty Rice ($6 a bowl) with chicken liver and minced pork.
