Grilled meat and seafood on a bed of greens. Now that’s the way to trick us into eating our vegetables. Warms salads are more inviting than cold salads, anyway. And that’s exactly what The Lawn, a mod café in Biopolis, specialises in. We like that there’s a “grill station” where your choice of meat is sizzled. How it works: 1. Choose your portion size — there’s Bowl ($8.90) or Pot ($10.90), the latter a behemoth large enough for two… or one ravenous Atkins dieter. You get a standard green base of fresh spinach, arugula and lettuce. 2. Pimp your salad with toppings, like whole roasted almonds and grapes, and a dressing like the robust tom yum-style Me So Spicy sauce. 3. Now, for the best bit: Pick one (or two for the Pot size) grilled item. There’s chicken and beef, but our favourite is the butter-seared Pacific Dory with Parsley Rub (above). Garlicky, flavour-packed and juicy. This is salad with sass.
