Just because they have a Chinese name doesn’t mean they speak Chinese, says Wang Chung singer Jack Hues.
Best known as... the British pop rock duo — comprising singer/guitarist Jack Hues and bassist Nick Feldman — with a string of ’80s hits ‘Dance Hall Days, ‘Everybody Have Fun Tonight’ and ‘Let’s Go’. The latter was the opening song for the 1987 Miss Universe pageant, the first and only time it was held in Singapore.
What they're up to now: They went their separate ways in 1990 after the release of their fourth album, The Warmer Side of Cool, reuniting briefly in 1998 for a Greatest Hits collection. Post-Wang Chung, Hues taught music while Feldman became a record label executive. In 2009, they started touring the retro music festival circuit. They’re now putting the finishing touch to a new album due at year’s end. Next month they perform here at the Retrolicious concert.
