This year marks an important milestone in the history of James Bond movies - it’s the 50th anniversary of the film franchise. To commemorate the anniversary, as well as coinciding with the latest Bond flick, Skyfall, Omega has released a limited edition of its Seamaster Diver 300m watch.Available in 41mm and 36.25mm, it features a "007" monogram on its dial and the number "50" on the bezel is coloured red. The caseback is stamped with the "inside the gun barrel" image from the iconic introduction sequence, where Bond turns and fires. There are 11,007 of the bigger version, while only 3,007 of the smaller ones are available.
That’s not all. Bond watch buffs have one more reason to rejoice: An exclusive adaptation of the Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m - just for the 23rd Bond film. Sporty and elegant, this limited edition - only 5,007 will be made - boasts a clean and classic aesthetic with subtle Bondian elements like the words "Skyfall 007" engraved on the self-winding rotor of the Co-Axial calibre 8507, as well as the "007 and gun" logo at 7 o’clock.
Sharp horolophiles would have noted that in Skyfall, Daniel Craig was not wearing either watch, probably due to the clash in the filming and watchmaking schedules. Instead he sports a black-dialled Planet Ocean 600M (below left) and a Seamaster Aqua Terra with a blue face (a first for this series).
