Spirit of Dahlia

Editors’ favourite label Givenchy’s brand of noir glamour gets bottled in their latest fragrance.

Spirit of Dahlia

The Product:

Givenchy Dahlia Noir EDP, $136 fir 50ML.

The Scoop:

The fashion house’s edgy new scent perfectly captures its couture spirit.

Mystery Blossom

The choice of the scent-less dahlia flower as the key inspiration for the perfume is an intriguing one: It was the mysterious spirit of the imaginary black dahlia that captured the imagination of Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci.

A Couture Scent

The first scent in the label’s stable to be developed under Tisci’s scrutiny, everything about it - from the bottle and juice to the campaign face, model Mariacarla Boscono - epitomises his edgy yet feminine aesthetic for Givenchy.

Smoky Sensuality

The chypre-floral juice is both bold and soft, melding with the skin like an invisible aura. The rose, iris and mimosa notes are given a contemporary spin with a woody, powdery warmth, thanks to base notes of patchouli, sandalwood and tonka bean.
