DO: Watch out for her
You are on her side. If the two of you are at a party, and she’s looking a little intimidated by the crowd, pull her away from the corner and into the conversation. Don’t leave her alone with strangers just because you spotted a few of your own friends across the room. If you notice that she’s quiet and listless during dinner, ask her what’s wrong. If you learn that she got laid off, take her out to lunch at least once a week to cheer her up. Show her that you’ll be there when she needs you, not just when the timing’s convenient for you.
