DON’T: Break the “girl code.”

What is the “girl code”, you ask? We could write a whole book on the unspoken rules within female friendships, but it all boils down to this: don’t kick the other person where it hurts. One of the hallmarks of friendships between women is the degree to which they share personal details with each other. If you know that she’s been in love with the same guy for three years, don’t start dating him when he shows interest in you instead.  Don’t date her ex. Don’t become BFFs with someone who used to bully her. If you lose something she lent you, pay for it. You get the picture.
