1. Purposely staying in on a Friday night

People in long-term relationships imagine singleness in one of two ways. Either we’re rich, fabulous, and meeting millionaires at the club, or we’re eating ice cream by the pint while writing sensationalised bios for our fifth online dating profile. The truth is, while we do have our share of glamourous and pathetic moments, most nights we simply enjoy the freedom to go home straight after work and veg out without talking to anybody. And by that, we don’t mean drinking alone while crying over our ex-boyfriends. We mean snuggling up with a good book, catching up with our friends overseas via Gchat, or simply sleeping early – in other words, soaking in as much personal time before marriage and family suck it away from us.
