Can we reiterate: IMBALANCE OF POWER. This is why people get the willies when professors sleep with students, when coaches date their players, and when government officials fool around with interns.  Getting into a relationship with someone you mentor makes you look like somebody who exploits the vulnerable. And if you’re the mentee, you have to be careful that the person isn’t taking advantage of you.
