All In between the Elmo scandal and the Petraeus affair, we thought we’d have enough sex scandals to last us through the end of November. But no, former CNB-chief Ng Boon Gay had to take the stand on the tenth day of his corruption trial and insist that the alleged sex-for-contracts relationship between him and IT executive Cecilia Sue was consensual. There are plenty of troubling details in the case, so let’s just hone in on one that the prosecutors are picking on: the shady business dealings. No matter how skilled you are at your job, the knowledge that you acquired business via sex could negate everything you’ve ever worked for. Call it “true love,” or call it a matter of business convenience, but an exciting dalliance isn’t worth the lifelong charge of corruption.
