7. Your colleague

Dating your colleague might not be as taboo as dating your boss, but it can screw you over just as much if you don’t do it right. Before getting involved with your colleague, ask yourself the following questions: Is this person up for the same promotion I am? How much access does he have to our boss? Is there an HR policy that says we cannot date? How would fights and breakups affect my job performance? How gossipy are our other colleagues? There stakes are so high, that this person had better be “the one” (or someone pretty close to that) for you to justify the potential fall-out.
