As much as we enjoy showing off the things that we love, a new boyfriend isn’t a luxury bag that you can parade in front of your friends. If a guy’s just getting to know you, he might feel overwhelmed when you push him onto your friends. By all means, bring him to a party and include him in conversation, but don’t drag him around, force him to small talk with all your friends, and introduce him as “my man” or “the boyfriend.” What if he’s not ready for that title? And you certainly shouldn’t invite all your friends to come hang out when you’re only on the third date. At least talk it out first. He’s going to start feeling claustrophobic. You need to ease him into your world, not unleash him into it. Once the two of you get closer and he’s ready to commit, he’ll be happy to meet your friends too.
