1. Never bruise a man’s ego

Apparently, men and the universe have a pact to watch each other’s back. And, the duty falls upon us to keep the peace. Yes, even in our darkest hours when the men we love fail us miserably, women are still tasked to be guardians of peace, tempering that lose-lose balance between venting our anger yet ensuring that fragile male egos are never bruised beyond recognition and that we brainwash ourselves in the name of marital harmony to bear witness to the bigger picture - that he works hard to bring some bacon home, procreates with us alone, and hence should be entitled to playing hard with or without us. Note that ability to look at the bigger picture means accepting that physical presence and thumbing through newspapers with no actual intention of participating in extended family bonding is just the way the world turns.

Of course, if he’s pissed you off by lying, flirting excessively and unnecessarily, don’t be a doormat because it’ll make a repeat offender out of him. But don’t box his ears (he might box yours back!). Wait till his ego is safe in the privacy of home then let the verbal bashing begin! He may not appreciate your “manly” side, but he will know he needs to draw the line if he still wants in.
