7. He won’t derail his life for you. Don’t derail yours

If you're the other woman, you’re Invisible Woman. Don’t plan your life around his schedule. Don’t relocate for him and certainly don’t change your life for him because he won’t do the same for you. It’s plausible he may leave his partner one day but don’t hold your breath. There’s no future if there’s no now.  

If you like spontaneity, you’re in luck. He will expect to see you at a drop of a hat, have secret rendezvous lasting no more than two hours, romantic dinners cancelled at the last minute with ardent promises to make it up to you. Spending holidays toute seule (all alone) will be something you’ll have to get used to as he will be with his family (willingly or under obligation). But he may throw you a bone – have you go on the same vacation (self funded, of course) and be “on call” in case he gets a free moment to romance you a little, in full secrecy, away from prying eyes.
